Hey there- my name is Matt.  I have spent my career working across industries in education, design, technology, and business.  I am a passionate and driven person with a love of storytelling—of learning, adventure, and literature.

I'm the co-founder and CEO of The Cauldron Co., a global technology and entertainment company that makes magic real. We focus on bringing magic and fantasy to life with the aid of science, technology and design through immersive food, beverage and retail experiences. At the heart of our company is The Magic of Things, our in-house Magicineering® studio where our team of incredibly talented creatives, engineers and experts in hospitality invent and produce everything we do—from our magic wands to PCBs to unicorns and dragons that dispense cocktails with the wave of a magic wand. With that work I’ve got a number of issued patents to my name, which has always been a childhood dream. I enjoy leading the direction of our Magicineering® studio and The Cauldron Co.’s omnichannel brand strategy—I’ve got a pretty awesome job!

We now have The Cauldron venues all over the world and we’ve been given shoutouts as "The #1 reason to stop what you are doing and get to London" by Buzzfeed and "The #1 bar you need to visit in London" by Business Insider.  In 2023 I was named the the “Gaingels 100,” a Collection of 100 LGBTQIA+ venture-backed entrepreneurs, and in 2019 my business partner and I were also named to the list of top 100 people in food & drink in the UK. We are growing the business and team, and are actively expanding the number of cities where we have venues globally.

For almost three years I worked at PageFair, the world’s former leading counter-adblock solutions provider (acquired).  PageFair's mission is to sustain the open web and ensure that content creators can get fairly paid for their work.  I think it’s a pretty worthwhile goal, and I enjoyed working with and learning from my colleagues.  I was an early hire at the company and Head of Communications and PR.  I also got to work with lots of data, which makes me happy.

Before PageFair I completed my Luce Scholars professional work placement in Global PR at ASUSTek Computer Inc. in Taipei, Taiwan. At ASUS, I learnt the ropes of global tech PR from my colleagues and under the mentorship of the Global Head of PR and Comms. That experience and a strong PR understanding laid the foundation for me to work with Comms at PageFair and then to launch The Cauldron in press and media.

My educational background is varied and matches my passion for learning and goal of building a tech company focused around literature and learning.  I have master’s degrees in Education and Social Change and Creative Digital Media, and an undergraduate honors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

I’ve had the privilege of working with talented and interesting people all over the world who continually challenge me and make me smile.  I’ve also been part of some terrific programs, namely Teach for America, the Luce Scholars Program, and the Mitchell Scholars Program, that have helped me develop my understanding of our world and my place in it.

I enjoy cycling, tinkering, and reading.
